| 贮粪池由二根过粪管连通的三个格室的密封池组成。根据其主要功能依次可命名为截留沉淀与发酵池、再次发酵池和贮粪池。三池之间由过粪管连接。有斜插管及倒U形、倒L形管等，但以斜插管为首选。过粪管采用内径为100～150mmPVC塑料管为宜，也可以用水泥预制、陶管等其它材料、要求内壁光滑。为防止堵塞，考虑粪池的大小与流量，可适当增加过粪管的数量。 The septic tank is composed of two sealed tanks with three compartments connected by the dung pipes.
